Though you are a wise and kind ruler who loves yourself, your brilliant strategies and ingenious plans have all turned to ashes.

话说杨戬见邓婵玉回马飞来要杀龙须虎。杨戬大呼曰：“少待伤吾师兄！”马走如飞，摇枪来刺。婵玉只得架枪。两马相交，未及数合，婵玉便走。杨戬随后赶来。婵玉又发一石，正中杨戬，打得脸上火星迸出，往下愈赶得紧了。他不知杨戬有无限腾挪变化。婵玉见马势赶得甚急，忙发一石，又中杨戬脸上；只当不知。婵玉正是著忙，杨戬祭起哮天犬，把邓婵玉颈子上一口，连皮带肉咬去了一块。婵玉负痛难忍，几乎落马，大败进营，叫痛不止。邓九公又见女儿著伤，心下十分不爽，纳闷在帐，切齿深恨哪吒。且说杨戬救了龙须虎，回见子牙。子牙见龙须虎又著石伤，虽然杨戬哮天犬伤了邓婵玉，子牙心上也自不悦。Now the story says that Yang Jian saw Deng Chanyu galloping back fiercely, intent on killing Longxv Hu. 当日邓九公父子著伤，日夜煎熬。四将在营商议：“今主帅带伤，不能取胜西岐，奈何？”正议论间，报：“有督粮官土行孙等令。”内帐传出：“令来。”土行孙上帐，不见主帅，间其原故，太鸾备言其事。土行孙进帐来，见邓九公问安。九公说：“被哪吒打伤肩臂，筋断骨折，不能全愈；今奉旨来征西岐，谁知如此！”土行孙曰：“主将之伤不难，末将有药。”忙取葫芦里一粒金丹，用水研开，将鸟翎搽上，真如甘露沁心，立时止痛。土行孙又听得帐后有妇女娇怯悲惨之声，土行孙问曰：“里面是何人呻吟？”九公曰：“是吾女婵玉，也被著伤。”土行孙又取出一粒金丹，如前取水研开，扶出小姐，用药敷上，立时止痛，邓九公大喜；至晚，帐内摆酒待土行孙，众将共饮。土行孙请问邓九公：“与姜子牙见了几阵？”九公曰：“屡战不能取胜。”土行孙笑曰：“当时主将肯用吾征时，如今平服西岐多时了。”九公暗想：“此人必定有些本事。他无有道术，申公豹决不荐他。也罢，不若把他改作正印先行。”彼时酒散。次早升帐，九公谓太鸾曰：“将军今把先行印让土行孙挂了，使他早能成功，回师奏凯，共享皇家天禄，无使迁延日月，何如？”太鸾曰：“主帅将令，末将怎敢有违？况土行孙早能建功，岂不是美事。情愿让位。”忙将正印交代。土行孙当时挂印施威，领本部人马，杀奔西岐城下，厉声大呼曰：“只叫哪吒出来答话！”子牙正与诸将商议，忽报：“汤营有将搦战，坐名要哪吒答话。”子牙命哪吒出城。哪吒登风火轮来至阵前，只管瞧，不见将官，只管望营里看。──土行孙其身止高四尺有馀，哪吒不曾往下看。土行孙叫曰：“来者何人？”哪吒方往下一看，原来是个矮子，身不过四尺，拖一根宾铁棍。哪吒问曰：“你是甚么人，敢来大张声势？”土行孙曰：“吾乃邓元帅麾下先行官土行孙是也。”哪吒曰：“你来作何事？”土行孙曰：“奉令特来擒你。”哪吒大笑不止，把枪往下一戳，土行孙把棍往上迎来。哪吒登风火轮，使开枪，展不开手。土行孙矮，只是前后跳，把哪吒杀出一身汗来。土行孙战了一回，跳出圈子，大叫曰：“哪吒！你长我矮，你不好发手，我不好用功。你下轮来，见个输赢。”哪吒想一想：“这矮匹夫自来取死。”哪吒从其言，忙下轮来，把枪来挑。土行孙身子矮小，钻将过去，把哪吒腿上打了一棍。哪吒急待转身，土行孙又往后面，又把哪吒胯子上又打两棍。哪吒急了，才要用乾坤圈打他，不防土行孙祭起困仙绳，一声响，把哪吒平空拿了去，望辕门下一掷，把哪吒缚定，怎能得脱此厄，正是：飞龙洞里仙绳妙，不怕莲花变化身。On that day, the injuries sustained by Deng Jiugong and his son caused them great suffering night and day. He quickly took a pill of golden elixir from his gourd, ground it with water, and applied it to the wound using a bird's feather. It was truly like sweet dew entering the heart, instantly relieving the pain. Tuxingsun also heard a woman's soft and pitiful weeping from behind the tent. He asked, "Who is moaning inside?" Jiugong said, "It is my daughter Chanyu; she has also been injured." Tuxingsun then took out another pill of golden elixir, ground it with water as before, helped the young lady out, applied the medicine to her wound, and instantly the pain stopped. Deng Jiugong was overjoyed; By evening, a banquet was prepared inside the tent for Tuxingsun, and all the generals drank together. Tuxingsun asked Deng Jiugong, "How many battles have you fought with Jiang Ziya?" Jiugong replied, "We have fought repeatedly but cannot achieve victory." Tuxingsun smiled and said, "If the commander had been willing to use me for this campaign back then, Xi Qi would have been pacified long ago." Jiugong thought to himself, "This man must certainly possess some talent. If he had no cultivation or magical arts, Shen Gongbao would never have recommended him." Well then, I might as well promote him to the position of chief vanguard with a proper official seal." At that time, the banquet ended. The next morning, when the tent was raised, Jiugong said to Tailuan, "General, you should now hand over the vanguard seal to Tuxingsun. Let him achieve success sooner, return with a victorious army, and share in the imperial blessings of longevity. This will prevent unnecessary delays; what do you think?" Tailuan replied, "The commander's order is absolute; how could a junior general dare to disobey? Besides, if Tuxingsun can achieve success sooner, it would surely be a good thing." He willingly gave up his position. He quickly handed over the official seal of authority. Tuxingsun immediately took up the seal of office and displayed his authority, leading his own troops to charge toward the walls of Xi Qi city. He shouted loudly, "Come out, Nezha! I want a word with you!" Ziya was just discussing matters with his generals when suddenly a report came in: "A general from the Tang camp has challenged us to battle, specifically demanding that Nezha come out and speak." Ziya ordered Nezha to go out of the city. Nezha mounted his Wind and Fire Wheel and arrived at the front of the formation, but he kept looking around without seeing any general, and continued to gaze into the camp. -- Tuxingsun was only slightly over four chi tall, so Nezha had not looked downward. Tuxingsun called out, "Who comes there?" Nezha looked downward and saw that it was a short man, no more than four chi tall, dragging an iron staff. Nezha asked, "Who are you, daring to make such a bold show of strength?" Tuxingsun replied, "I am Tuxingsun, the vanguard officer under General Deng." Nezha said, "What business do you have here?" Tuxingsun replied, "I have come especially to capture you by order." Nezha laughed heartily and thrust his spear downward; Tuxingsun raised his staff upward to meet it. Nezha rode the Wind and Fire Wheel, brandished his spear, but could not land a strike. Tuxingsun was short, merely hopping back and forth, yet he made Nezha sweat profusely in the battle. After a brief exchange of blows, Tuxingsun leapt out of the circle and shouted, "Nezha!" You are tall while I am short; you cannot strike easily, nor can I exert much effort. Come down from your wheel and let us see who is the better fighter." Nezha thought for a moment, "This short fellow has come to seek death on his own." Nezha followed his words and quickly dismounted from the wheel, raising his spear to strike. Tuxingsun, being short and nimble, darted past and struck Nezha's leg with his staff. Nezha hurried to turn around, but Tuxingsun had already moved behind him and struck his hips twice more with the staff. Nezha became desperate and was about to use his Kunlun Rings to strike him, but unexpectedly Tuxingsun summoned the Immortal Binding Rope. With a loud sound, he snatched Nezha from midair and threw him down before the 辕门 (Yuanmen), binding him tightly. There was no way for Nezha to escape this predicament. It turned out exactly as follows: The immortal rope in the Flying Dragon Grotto is truly wondrous, unafraid even of the lotus-transformed body.

The hammer struck the staff, and a chill wind blew fiercely; the staff clashed against the hammer: fierce killing intent surged. Before a few exchanges could be completed, Tuxingsun stole the Immortal Binding Rope from Master Juliusun. Here he was recklessly capturing people without discernment; once again, he summoned the rope and captured Huang Tianhua. Just like Nezha, he was also detained in the rear camp. Nezha, upon seeing Huang Tianhua captured in the same way, was so enraged that his Three Corpse Spirits surged with fury. He shouted, "What misfortune we have suffered to be trapped like this again!" Nezha said, "Elder brother, there is no need to worry." If our fate is to perish here, rushing will be of no use; if we are destined to live, then let us remain calm and patient." Return with a victorious army to celebrate before His Majesty and share in boundless glory." Tuxingsun accepted the order, deployed his troops into formation, and publicly demanded that Jiang Ziya come out to speak. A scout galloped into the prime minister's residence with news. Back and forth they fought, no more than three or five exchanges. Tuxingsun then invoked the Immortal Binding Rope, and Ziya could not escape this calamity; he was captured and bound on his horse. Tuxingsun's soldiers came to seize him, but on this side there were many generals who rushed forward bravely. With a single shout, they rescued Ziya and carried him into the city. Only Yang Jian was behind, when he saw a streak of golden light; its radiance was righteous and not evil. He sighed and said, "There is something strange happening again!" Meanwhile, the generals had carried Ziya into the prime minister's residence. They tried to untie this rope but could not; they used a sword to cut it, yet the rope was embedded in his flesh and only tightened further with each attempt. Ziya said, "Do not use a blade to cut." The commotion had already reached King Wu, who personally entered the prime minister's residence to visit and inquire about his father-in-law's well-being. Seeing Ziya in such a condition, King Wu wept and said, "I do not know what crime I have committed. For years the Son of Heaven has waged war repeatedly, yet there is no peace anywhere; the people suffer greatly, soldiers are slaughtered, generals fall into traps—what can be done about this!" "Seeing my father-in-law now suffering such hardship makes me feel anxious and fearful day and night!" Yang Jian, standing nearby, carefully examined the rope. It seemed to be the Immortal Binding Rope. He mused to himself, "It must be this treasure." Just as he was pondering, a report suddenly came in: "A young Daoist boy wishes to see the prime minister." Ziya said, "Please bring him in." It was none other than the White Crane Boy. He came to the hall, saw Ziya, and respectfully addressed him: "Uncle Master, here is a decree from my master along with a talisman and seal to remove this rope." The boy placed the talisman and seal on the rope, pointed at it with his hand, and immediately the rope fell away. Ziya hurriedly bowed toward Kunlun Mountain, kowtowing in gratitude to his master's compassion and mercy. The White Crane Boy returned to the palace. No further details are provided here. Meanwhile, Yang Jian said to Ziya, "This rope is the Immortal Binding Rope." Ziya said, "How could this be possible!" "How could Ju liusun have turned around to harm me? Upon looking closely, it turned out to be only a stone. Everyone was greatly startled. Tuxingsun himself witnessed this and felt deeply shocked and doubtful. While he was still pondering in silence, Yang Jian suddenly shouted, "You good-for-nothing!" "How dare you use this trick to deceive me!" He swung his spear and rushed forward. Tuxingsun had no choice but to turn around and fight again. The two sides clashed fiercely, their weapons flashing in a blur of long and short strikes. Yang Jian quickly invoked Xiaotian Quan into the air. Tuxingsun saw this and, with a twist of his body, vanished instantly. He ordered: "Hang three mirrors at the main gate of the residence and five mirrors in the main hall. Tonight, all generals must not disperse; they are to remain within the residence on strict guard duty. Bows should be strung, swords drawn from their scabbards, so as to prepare for any unexpected event." After a short while, all the generals arrived on the hall in full armor and weapons. Just then, a gate official reported inside: "King Wu has arrived." Ziya hurriedly led the generals to receive King Wu into the hall and they paid their respects. King Wu said, "Prime Minister Father has summoned me; what is your instruction?" Ziya said, "Today, the old minister trained all the generals in the Six 韬 (Six Strategies), and has specially invited Your Majesty for a banquet." King Wu was greatly pleased: "It is rare that my Prime Minister Father works so diligently; I am deeply grateful. I only wish for the cessation of arms, and to share peace and safety with you, my Prime Minister Father." Ziya quickly ordered his attendants to prepare a banquet and served King Wu wine and food; yet they only conversed and laughed about military and state affairs, not daring to mention the matter of Tuxingsun's planned assassination. Meanwhile, General Deng Jiugong continued drinking until evening; it was now the first watch of the night. Tuxingsun bade farewell to General Deng Jiugong and the other generals, made his preparations, and set out for Xi Qi city. General Deng Jiugong and the generals stood up to watch as Tuxingsun twisted his body, vanishing without a trace. General Deng Jiugong clapped his hands and laughed heartily, saying, "The Son of Heaven's great fortune! To have such a remarkable person aiding the state, how could one worry about unrest not being quelled!" Meanwhile, Tuxingsun had entered Xi Qi and was searching everywhere. He arrived at Ziya's residence, where he saw the generals with bows strung and swords drawn, standing on either side. Tuxingsun stood waiting below but found no opportunity to act; he had no choice but to wait for a chance. Meanwhile, Yang Jian came onto the hall and whispered several words to Ziya; Ziya agreed. Ziya first placed King Wu in a secret chamber, assigning four generals to guard him. Ziya himself sat on the dais, employing his spiritual essence to protect himself. With one stroke of his blade, Tuxingsun severed King Wu's head and cast it under the bed. The concubines were still fast asleep with their eyes closed, snoring loudly and not waking up. Tuxingsun saw that the concubine's face was as beautiful as peach blossoms, and her fragrance filled his nose. Unable to resist, he suddenly shouted, "Who are you? Why do you sleep so soundly?" The woman awoke in alarm and asked, "Who are you, to come here at this late hour?" Tuxingsun said, "I am no one else; I am Tuxingsun, the vanguard officer of King Chengtang's army. Yang Jian looked around in confusion and returned to Ziya, saying, "Disciple was only switching hands to behead him when he struggled free and escaped underground." Ziya listened in silence.
